In building my coop, the tips of some screws are exposed. Could this be a problem for the birds? If so (probably so) what can I put on the screws to make them less dangerous?

I wouldn't be overly concerned about it, but you could use masking tape (or something similar) to cover the screw heads

If you have a good set of pliers you could nip the tips off, curl them over with a hammer if the metal will give a bit, or use something like an exterior wood putty to smooth over/pack around them

I use a dremel with a cut off blade and/or a grinder bit.
