Extra birds in the coop

I have 30 free range chickens so I leave the pop holes open for them to access the nest boxes, food and water, and get out of the weather. Suddenly, I have a HUGE flock of house sparrows enjoying the same. Any ideas?

Sometime in the past, someone on site had a similar problem with starlings. They entered the coop, tennis racket in hand and had at them. Starlings soon found safer digs.

I'm going to some thrift shops this weekend to get a cheap tennis racket. Maybe take up a new sport, too. Thanks for the advice.
