Hello! I have one hen that stopped laying for a few weeks. I read on BYC it may be a lack of protein so I locked them in for a few days to see if maybe it was too much free ranging/not enough feed or something and we're back to full production
She's laying late in the afternoon but I guess that's normal.
I had a few eggs before that had what looks like a lot of bloom on the egg. The brown egg was covered in white that had little dots like the surface of the egg sort of. Some would wash off. Some would not. I didn't think too much off it but I went out this morning and there was an egg in the run (never happens) and it's almost entirely white with a circle of pale brown. I can almost see that under the white is brown still. SO hard to describe!
Does this sound familiar? Is this normal? Just her eggs?
