This isn’t really an injury but I wasn’t sure what category to put this in. I noticed one of my EEs has an extra toe coming off of one of her other toes on one of her feet. What caused it? Is it just a mutation?

That's what I figured, I wasn't worried about it. She acts normal and has never had any trouble. I just noticed it and was like "Oh, thats odd! I wonder what caused that?"Probably a genetic defect of some sort. I wouldnt worry about it. As long as she's eating, drinking and acting like a chicken should...no problem.
I know silkies have an extra toe, but her toe is only on one foot and isn't like it's own seperate toe, it is like two toes in one. They come off of the same spot on the foot but are seperate toes at the end. Some breeds have an extra toe, like silkies and faverolles. Since EEs are a mix she probably has one of those breeds in her.
Yea that’s how they are.I know silkies have an extra toe, but her toe is only on one foot and isn't like it's own seperate toe, it is like two toes in one. They come off of the same spot on the foot but are seperate toes at the end.
