My hen sustained an eye injury yesterday after being attacked by a hawk. Yesterday her eye was bloodshot red and she kept it shut, where as today she has it open sometimes and there appears to be a cloudy area over the eye from the injury. Yesterday and today i rinsed her eye out with an eye was to help with irritation and prevent infection. My mom who was watching her today thinks she might be blind in that eye. I was wondering if there is a possibility of temporary blindness due to swelling, and whether or not she can regain her sight with care and eye washes, or if i should accept the fact that she will have no sight in one eye

Whether she's blind in one eye or not, all you can do is hope for the best. She'll be fine either way, just as long as she continues eating and drinking normally.
I recommend that you purchase Terramycin eye ointment to prevent infection, put a little in her eye until healed. However it doesnt mean that she'll be able to see out of the eye.
