7 month old pullet with eye swelling. It started out as what I thought was just an injury about a week ago but progressed this morning to her eye completely swollen shut. She does have a swollen mass that’s firm on her nasal area right below her nose as well but only on one side. Acting pretty normal, fighting my qtip as I tried to clean her up.

I applied some optho ointment and a warm compress to the face. No audible or noticeable respiratory. I’ve got a rooster who has some new bumps as well that I’ll post a picture of as well

How do I support her?

I would continue to use an antibiotic ointment in the eye twice a day, and clean away any drainage, flushing with saline eye wash. Do you have mosquitoes out right now? Usually with pox, you will scabs in other parts of the face, comb, and wattles. I cannot say that it is not pox, or confirm it either. Can you look inside her beak and have a look for any yellow material or anything else out of the ordinary? It could be a pecking injury, abscess, or some type of cyst. Do you a picture of the other chicken?

I was able to open up Ramones beak and he doesn’t have any white patches internally that I notice.

This is Ramone who doesn’t appear to have any white spots. He is getting over a mite issue so is anemic but we are working on that already

Ramone looks to have injuries to his comb. Do you have other roosters?
Yep that’s what I thought originally but just wanted to get some extra eyes to calm my concerns about fowl pox. We do have another rooster and Ramone is second fiddle. They do have some riffs here and there but have a good status quo. I’ll keep a better eye on them.
