Not sure what he had but it started to swell all of a sudden
Welcome To BYCThanks will try that and what brand of antibiotics would you recommend, would I be able to get it from tractor supply or store?
I’ve had him around a month now, I don’t think it’s corzya, inside it’s like slime but he also scratches it frequently no bad smellWelcome To BYC
How long have you had him?
Have you brought in any new birds recently?
Any bad odors coming from the face, lesion inside the beak?
Looks like eye infection. Hard to know what's causing it. If there's a bad odor, then perhaps Infectious Coryza. Mycoplasma is another possibility if there's not an odor.
Flush the eye with saline, press out the pus that's in the eye. Put Terramycin eye ointment in the eye. You can find this at TSC or order online through Amazon.
He may need an antibiotic, but you need to determine what he has to give him the most effective treatment. If vet care is an option, that's always best. Otherwise, if there's a bad odor, treat with a sulfa antibiotic (do look inside the beak, if there's lesions, take photos). If no bad odor, then try treating with Tylosin to see if that helps.
You will not find medications at TSC. Antibiotics for the most part were pulled from shelves a couple of years ago. You can still order some things online. https://jedds.com/?srsltid=AfmBOoqOYVW5l6huMbjluF8qMWdM3ry5eGkA_pf0g13OXGF35QsYmkp1
Then I'd work on removing the pus and use the saline/ointment, see if he improves. If not, then start him on Tylosin in addition to caring for the eye at least once daily.I’ve had him around a month now, I don’t think it’s corzya, inside it’s like slime but he also scratches it frequently no bad smell
