Eyelid closing - Normal, or an early warning sign?

I have one very special little chicken in my flock named Rose, 7 months old. When she was 5 weeks old, her tongue mysteriously swelled to a very large size and fell out. I nursed her through it and eventually she got strong again and rejoined her flock. She seems to be doing well now. But, I remember holding her a few days before she got sick, and she was closing her eyelids while we snuggled. I don't notice my chickens doing that very often...though often they do close their eyes by sort of squinting them shut while I pet them. Anyway, yesterday when I was cuddling Rose, I noticed her doing that eyelid thing again. Is this just a normal contented chicken behavior, or should I rush this little lady back to the vet?

Chickens do close their eyes when they are rested/content. However, they also may half lid their eyes when they are sick. For this reason, I would take note of her activity level (should be perky, active, scratching, eating and drinking), comb coloration (should be pink/red, full, almost waxy looking) and weight (full crop on a regular basis and no weight loss).
However, I am unfamiliar with many chicken diseases/illnesses and am not an expert.

Hope this helps! I also hope your little pullet is healthy and happy! :)
