Eyeworms in British Columbia or anywhere else in Canada?

I believe my young chicken, who died last night, has a case of eyeworms. I spoke with BC Animal Health today and they have never seen a case of eyeworm here. I know I saw and removed both male and female nematodes from this bird's eyes. I will be shipping the body for necropsy and hopefully get confirmation although frozen state is not the best but I am too far from any shipping service to do otherwise. I know that a lot of things do not get reported or confirmed in animal and human health. Please let me know if you have had any experience with eyeworms in areas other than tropical.
