I have a dozen eggs ready to go.

These eggs ARE fertile - the embryos surviving degrees up to 105 and horrible humidity conditions. I would've continued that clutch, but the temperature soared to well over 107 for a long period of time. I can send pictures of an embryo. I don't have any relative fertility/hatch rates - I have the 'test' clutch in the incubator now, and the first candling will be sunday.

These birds are bred for temperament first. These chicks should be lovable, docile birds. My roo is great - takes wonderful care of his girls. My girls run to me in the yard to be loved on. I couldn't ask for a better flock. They should all also be great egg layers. My girls layed heavily all winter long.

Some chicks will be APA black color.

Pictures of my birds/eggs are on my website.

** Edited to add that the shipping rates might be cheaper than that. If they are, I will refund the difference.

Yep, they are. But the difference between most EE's and this clutch is that I know their genetic background - specifically, that of their father - and because I know that, I know they will lay green, maybe blue, eggs - while most others are just EE roos over EE hens.

Some babies could be dominant for blue eggs - but most should be heterozygous.

F1 cross, meaning they are the first generation bred from Ameraucana blood.

Ok, so are you breeding specifically for egg color?

Yes, for egg color and temperament.

Just candled the other night.

Out of 41 eggs, only 2 were infertile. That's a 95% fertility rate.

4 more died in the early stages of developement. I am unsure of 2 others, as they are dark for some reason - but I am almost certain they are developing as well.
