Ok, so somebody saw a bird escape an un named companies truck on the interstate.
I rescued it off the overpass huddled against the overpass.
I'm not above doing the humane thing, but it seems as though there are no flesh wounds, just a large skin tear.
I have bathed it, and flushed the wound really good with peroxide. She seems to want to rest but is drinking and has done some preening so I think she deserves a chance surviving the Factory Farm and the highway.
Main question is about the loose skin. Should I attempt to wrap it to the body or let it breath and trim if it dies or becomes necrotic?
I have tons of gauze and vet wrap, AAA ointment, and I do have Blue Cote on hand from a previous rescue from Rapey McRooster.
Have in a small dog kennel in dim room away from flock, I've got the obvious parts down.
Any advice welcome, ty in advance.

That makes me so mad. I hate how factories treat their birds.
Good for you for rescuing her!
Do you have Vetericyn? It works really well for cleaning wounds.
I would try to wrap it. Maybe the skin can be saved? I wouldn't trim it unless it's necrotic.
As long as it contains no painkillers, I'd apply some of the triple antibiotic ointment.
Keep us updated!
