Fair Bought Chick, breed? gender?

My daughter's uncle bought her a lil chick at the fair. It is around 4 weeks old now. We are raising it as a pet and family member. Any info would be very helpful and welcomed!

Looks like a barred Rock to me! We have one and love her! I doubt you will be able to tell in male vs female for a while. Take comb pics in a few weeks and post them. Congrats on the new family member!

That's a Barred Rock, and I'm 80% sure it's a pullet based on coloring and comb. Barred rock cockerels are much lighter in color than the pullets.
