So, this happened today. All of our hens are well over a year old and established layers. Does this cause me concern or no?

It may just be that your chickens went through some sort of stressful time or is too hot. Make sure that the water and food systems are clean and that you give them lots of calcium (Crushed eggshells). How many times did you see this happen so far?

This is the first time since the first time! They have free choice calcium available to them. We did just have a killer heat spell where we are so that could have factored in too. Good call.

Not sure about this. I am in Florida and it’s been really hot this week. No fairy eggs for us, but maybe that could possibly true. All I know is it’s a fluke that happens every now and then.
