Ahh, I totally misread that post and then proceeded to go off on a complete tangent! So yes the sides of the shed where the roof overhangs are open between the rafters for ventilation and covered by the same hardware cloth. I also have the 4 windows, screens removed, covered by hardware cloth and vents on each end. The windows will remain open the vast majority of the time. I also framed out an additional two windows facing the open run in case more ventilation/light is required.I can see the bottom venting, which is great. The reason they call for ventilation at the top is because the fumes from the urine rises and can create noxious fumes that are harmful to the birds.
