I know this is a crazy question but here goes:

History: I have 12 pullets (10 are 24+ weeks old and 2 are 20 weeks old). Not one egg until Friday...

Friday : I hung a fan in the coop window. Got my first egg!
Sat.: the fan was running--------------------Got my second egg!
Sunday: No fan---------------------------------No eggs
Monday: No fan---------------------------------No eggs
Tuesday: fan started early-------------------Got my third egg!

We have had really hot, humid weather for weeks now. Is this a 'fluke'??

What do you think???????Dixie

The only time we use fans or cooling is in extreme heat. If it is going to be 103 or above with very low relative humidity and air velocity of 5-10 mph or less do we use fans and/or misters.
Our flocks produce consistently better if we do less to upset their natural rythms.

Currently we are running at 78% productivity as a constant.
