I need some more input in regards to useing a radiant fan forced heater as a heating sourse in a home built incubator ? The spec's are as follows .....1250W to 1500W heat settings, automatic thermostat alarm indicating light ( not sure that would apply ) I have had some good input from rebelcowboysnb about this , but is there anyone who has ever used this type of heating sourse , or should I just go and buy the wafer thereostat and what ever else is required ? I think it should work , given that I could control the heat properly and not have a melt down .Any input would be great

Just some thoughts off the top of my head...

That's a lot of heat, unless you have a room sized incubator. It's an incubator, not an oven. Most of the Sportsman sized cabinets use an element that is around 200 to 300 watts, generally just a nichrome heating element suspended on ceramic insulators.

I'm not sure that the thermostat will hold temperature as tight as you'd like, but it's worth a try. At the very least have a backup thermostat set a degree above the other in case it fails.

This is replacement heater for a Sportsman cabinet that runs less than $20:
