I just got this incubator listed in the title and i hear it has a good hatch rate but usually people will use an extra thermometer or so to keep track as the built in one isn't accurate. Any advice to better guarantee a good hatch rate before i use it? And any idea how many degrees is it usually off by? What about humidity? I test ran mine and the humidity ranged between 63-72%, is it accurate? All I put was a a little less than half a cup in the first filling hole, too much?

I have 2 of these and use them along side a nurture right 360. So with mine I have a older analog model and the new digital. My digital one is dead on with 2 Govee thermometers I use in them. As far as humidity I’ve always been a dry incubator user never adding water until day 18 for lockdown. Now I’m in south Alabama and my humidity stays in the upper 20s in winter and around 30ish in spring summer. I did just order the humidikit from incubator warehouse to try and keep a stable 45% during incubation just to see if it changes anything. Saying all this I would always use a calibrated thermometer/hygrometer. Also when your setting up a incubator let it run 24 hours empty get your temps and reading then add the eggs don’t make any changes for at least 12 hours. The eggs will change your temp and humidity because they’re also giving off heat and moisture. Only after 12 hours do I make any changes if needed so I know my eggs are up to temp. Again I only dry incubate except trying this kit this time but always have successful hatches.

I'm in florida, so i might be able to do that dry hatch but I'm scared of risking it. I'll do that test run though.

It’s not a dry hatch it’s a dry incubate. I raise my humidity at day 18 to 70% or so for the lockdown process. The reason I raise mine higher than suggested 55% is because I’ll open and get birds out so if the humidity drops it’ll only drop to 55 or so and not cause shrink wrap issues. If your in Florida you know how these cold fronts do us down here it’ll be hot and muggy and next morning front moves through and 60 and 20% humidity for a day or 2 then back to hot and muggy.

yes, thats what i meant, of course its not a dry hatch, haha, my bad. This incubator says to have it between 65-75% on the last 3 days doesn't it? And 50-60% during the other days. And yes that makes sense.

Yeah mine stays in the 30s. I think I tried a few times trying to keep the humidity right but it fluctuated so much I started the dry incubation and it’s always worked good for me. Like I said I’m trying the humidikit on one incubator now and it’s staying dead on 40% with it. It’s loaded with 30 Turkey eggs and some silkie eggs.

I use the Govee type thermometer hygrometers from Amazon. Some are Bluetooth connect to your phone some are Wi-Fi. I just started using the Wi-Fi ones so I can watch the temp while I’m away from home and know if something happens. They’re a lot more accurate than going by the incubator read outs and a necessity for good hatches.
