Fast and Effective dusting!

I have a large flock and it usually take ages to treat my hens all individually with lice and mite powder so I am looking out for fast and effective ways to apply the powder.

whoops, I thought this might be about dusting in a house. I sure wanted to find out how to do it fast. I hate dusting, rather shovel snow.

Yeah, it takes so long. I found out one just then.

Put all the powder in a garbage bag, then put the chicken in but keep the head out. Then shake the bag around coating the chicken in the powder. Sounds good but not sure how affective.

I use a flour sifter, you know the metal ones with the squeeze bar on the handle? I just go out at night and go from bird to bird on the perch, sifting as I lift wings and spread tail feathers. I dump any excess where they dust bathe so the next day they can roll around and reach any spots I missed.
