Okay so I guess i found the right section, I hope anyway. Fatso started laying on Christmas day last year, she has always laid HUGE eggs, double yolked ones at that a couple weeks ago she stopped laying, I thought maybe she was molting, as I was finding feathers here and there. Well she isn't molting and she is walking and acting normal, all except 2 thing. Still no eggs, and her tail is down from time to time, especially when she eats. Other then that she acts and looks normal. So as I was reading yesterday on this wonderful board i thought maybe she was impacted. We are going to soak her today in the warm bath. Anything else we should do , or any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Actually, if ou go to Index then FAQ, and scroll down, there are links to two threads about eggbound.

I just gave her bath. lol I took pictures Ill post them later. Still no egg. her belly felt soft though. She pooped a lot when she came out. Thanks for the pages. Ill go have a look.

Okay I went and read the info. Thanks guys!! Question though how many times do I give a bath? I put her back in the coop and she looked like she was going to lay but then got up and stated walking around gain. Should I put her back in the water or leave her go for a while? Thanks

If she's not straining to lay an egg, I wouldn't think egg bound.

When was she wormed? What do the droppings look like? Eating, and drinking normal? What's the weather like? Been hot as hades? Some slow up on laying during the heat. Have you checked her for lice? Could she be eating more treat like food instead of her feed? In other words, is she getting enough protein and vitamins?

Hi NotTheMomma,
Haven't wormed. Guess Ill do this next. Droppings are a bit mushy, mushier then the others. Eating and drinking fine. She is a complete hog, loves to eat. Although she didn't care for the tums. No record heat here, been around 80's everyday, rain on occasion. As for treat food, she is free roaming like the rest has only her pellet food for laying and oyster shells on the ground outside. I do give her some fruit and veggies on occasion, but not an everyday thing. Bread too just once in a great while. Just gave her the enfamil vit. She is not a happy camper right now as I left her in the coop and everyone else is out. She wants out. lol I'll search how to check for lice. Could she just stop laying for no reason. Now sweetiepie is standing outside my window calling for her lol. She's gonna drive me nuts. Thanks everyone for posting to me. Nope no lice.
