Are there any ways I can fatten up my chickens for the winter? They lost a lot of weight because of molting, and I just want them to have enough fat for winter to survive. Any ideas? btw, my girls are pets, not food :)

They usually dont lose weight due to molting. With the feather lose they can look smaller. If you are sure they lost weight check for worms. During winter I add corn to their diet. I give cracked corn in the am and pm to help generate body heat. They will start eating more when it gets cold to help raise body heat as well so you should see a pick up in feed consumption.
