FDA Confirms My Suspicion About Turkey Deaths

I am sure there is more to this than just cattle and turkeys involved. They also don't seem to care about warnings or this would not still be going on since May. Do you think most people who have losses or sickness, would they even think it might be the food???? I was even starting to wonder myself, thinking it was a long shot. But sickness effects young ones first. No young turkeys died or got sick. When the food was changed, the deaths stopped. I just go so mad when the manufacture would not even call me to talk about this. Do you think it was because they knew what was in the food?

You probably aren't the only one who lost stock..

You could probably get someone to start a class action case.

There are site that offer to help in these case. They get paid later.

A good attorney will go for much more than just a simple 'loss of product'.
Please, for your sake, and the sake of many others, pursue legal actions.
BTW , how the hell does an antibiotic 'accidentally' get into feed?!?!

If you missed the article here it is. http://www.foodsafetynews.com/2010/08/fda-works-with-mill-to-get-medicated-feed-done-right/

From
reading the warning letter from the FDA in June, they where doing a lot of sloppy work. The article said "FDA said it found Western Milling failed to implement adequate safeguards to prevent unsafe contamination in the production of medicated and non-medicated feeds. Western Milling, for example, was not using the product FDA recommends as a flush following the manufacture of medicated feed." I wonder if do to the economy, they cut back on staff and took short cuts. This company has been around a long time and should know what to do. I would like to know what problems the cattle farmer had that caused him to report the problem to the FDA?

One reason I raise turkeys is to have food that does not have growth hormones or antibiotics. I am on Chemo so it is important to me that antibiotics are not in my food. I don't know anyone who want to eat meat with antibiotics in it. My chickens also eat this food. I eat there eggs. Is that safe? This company has a organic line too. Is it really organic?

If you google monensin adult turkeys there has been a lot written on poisoning with monensin.

Oh, how horrible, for the poor birds and for you also. I am sorry that happned.

Could you pm me any names of food that maker sells as, so that I can make sure not to buy their food and have something like that happen to me?

I posted the names the company goes by in my second post. I think they sell food in CA, NV, and AZ.

Anytime you have healthy birds or other animals that are dieing, it might be the food. In this case it is called drug carry over. There is lots of information on it. In this article it talks gives the example, carryover of monensin from cattle feed to horse feed may kill the horse. It also talks about meat residue and other problems from drug carry over. http://www.ksre.k-state.edu/library/grsci2/MF2055.pdf
