Feather loss on back

I have an 17 month old Black Spanish hen that's losing feathers from her back just above the tail. There is a Tom and another hen in the pen with her.

Too much sexy time with the Turkey dude will do that.

Either separate the hen , separate the tom or get one of those nifty chicken saddles.( in this case, a giant saddle for the hen)

A tom, that constantly mounts the hens will make a bad hairday for the hens.

She could also be mottling. It is that time of year when they will lose a lot of feathers. If she is the only one losing feathers and it is only on her back then I agree with toredano. You might want to get her a saddle or make one for her.

I thought that might be it, but I haven't seen much action from them since the spring and early summer.
