feather loss

Hey all been awhile since ive posted. I have 11 chickens 5 Orph Buffingtons and 6 comets. All of the comets are missing the feathers on their heads. None of the Buffs feathers are missing any. It has been this way for about a year. I cant figure it out. I dont see any mites but i dont know what the cause could be. Any advice would be great

Do you have any roosters? I've seen roosters do this to their favorite hens fairly often. It could also be a pecking order thing. It's generally not a problem as long as they seem healthy otherwise.

Have seen this happen with a few of my birds, never really figured out why.
They grew back after a molt.
How old are your birds, in months?

I agree - not uncommon, not mites. Do you have a rooster? They hang on there, right behind the comb.

I have a black medici with exactly the same thing, and i have a rooster
she is fine, and yours should be fine too; she is actually one of the most reliable layers
