I have a White Crested Black Polish Rooster whose head is bare on the backside because my hens always peck his feathers out as they begin to grow in. We've even tried separating him from them and allowing the feathers to grow back in fully, but within a few minutes of reintroducing him to the flock, the girls are after him. Any suggestions?

You might get him his own flock of Polish hens or fit the hens in your present flock with Pinless Peepers. For some reason Polish in mixed flocks frequently have their crests plucked. I have no idea why, but it is a bad habit that once started is nearly impossible to break. Good luck at resolving this situation.

I had this problem with one of my two polish hens as young pullets. I had to keep her head sprayed with Blu-kote, a blue staining antiseptic from the farm store. Be sure your chickens are getting at least 20% protein in their feed and that they have plenty of room because they will pick on each other if they don't.

Once their feathers grew in with the use of the Blu-Kote, did the others start plucking them out once you ceased applying the spray?
