feather question

Hello.
not sure if this is the right placement of my question but here it go's:
what do you all do with the extra feathers? do you crafty projects with them or trash em'?

Good Question. I have noticed a lot of feathers lately. Usually the dogs eat them but can we use them for stuff or should they be cleaned somehow.

My son likes to collect them, and try to make bird nests out of the feathers in the yard. Unsuccessful but very creative for a little guy.

if it wasnt raining today, i was thinking on collecting all the feathers , cleaning them and letting my 2 young kids do a crafty project with them.
mine have them all over their run, i think they are molting. thats the correct word i think?

My granddaughter is saving them for craft projects. She wants to make some silly clay chickens and use some for 3-5 tailfeathers, or 1 for a head feather. With some time and attention to detail these chickens could turn out cute.

My hobby is sculpting so I have given her some direction in the past.
