The girls are just about 9 weeks. When I went in the coop yesterday, there were a handful of feathers scattered around. I looked everyone over and they all look ok. Is it normal for them to lose a few feathers at this age. They are long feathers, not fluffy. Thanks

Mine are a little bit older than that. They were born early-mid August. When I cleaned the coop last weekend, there were quite a few feathers inside the coop itself. Seems like they've been losing more lately. I presume its normal. They don't seem to be ill-affected.

Yeah, they will go thru several feather "changouts" while they get their adult plumage. Nine weeks is just about the right time for it, completely normal.
