Hello All

I found my Polish Crested girl (Dizzy) with a tail full of bloody feathers and a naked spot right above her tail. She is the smallest of my chickens. I took her out of the coop washed her hiney off with warm water and soap then dried her well. I then sprayed the area with blu-kote. My question is how long should I keep her separated?

I normally separate depending on how bad the wound is and then use vetericyn to help prevent infections and help it heal faster. When the healing is done, I may spray with blukote depending on the wound, then integrate her back into the coop.
Do you have pictures of the wound before the blukote was added? With blukote you can't see the wound. That would help us determine the severity of the wound.
