Do chickens lose feathers in warmer weather? There are a lot of feathers around all of a sudden.

yep, they are probably molting. they will lose a lot of feathers for a little while. and probably look pretty beaten up

So they are losing because of the "lovely warm and humid" weather here in NC?
They have shade under the coop and under a tarp where their food is, but still have their little beaks hanging open. They stay under the coop most of the time till the shade hits the run area. Seem to really enjoy a rain shower.
