Feed advice needed for laying ducks.

I have 17 ducks all laying their age ranges from 9 mons - 5 mons various breeds. They are eating Purina layena and offered oyster shell and they are going threw an $18 bag in 5 days needless to say I can't afford this much longer. They free range 4-5 hours daily and I fix them a morning treat of greens and some kitchen leftovers which I will prob always do that's our bonding time. Their feed is always available. I'm prob feeding way to much should I cut back and what would be a good amount or should switch their feed? I feel they need the richer feed due to their bodies producing each day or I'm I wrong. My drakes are on an allstock feed not sure if this would be ok for the girls. Please let me no fairly new to layers and what they need.

Feed is expensive and your right when ducks are laying they need good quality feed, Mine all get Purina Flock raiser, that way they can all be on the same feed. It's pricey too. I go through a 50lb bag in about 2 weeks with 43 ducks/chickens/geese to feed. I just put out Oyster shell for the layers plus foraging they are consuming calcium too and the greens we give them. I make fermented feed for my flock so can't really say how much in cups that would come out to in a day but if your going through that much feed in 5 days they are eating way too much or inviting the neighbors in for some grub. you want your flock to be healthy but be careful the girls don't get over weight that can cause laying problems too.

Sounds like Flock Raiser, just put out oyster shell they will eat it as they need it. I put it in a separate bowl from the food.
