I'm curious about why you would want to build such a big coop raised off the ground? It's going to get nasty underneath and it isn't going to be very easy to clean under there, or catch a chicken if it decides to hide out under the coop.

I'm sorry I can't really understand from your drawings what your design features are (like ventilation).

You might want to think about putting overhangs on your roof to help keep rain from blowing in the vents and/or windows and into the side of the run, too. I didn't put sufficient overhang on my small coop and I regret it.

sorry about that. the blacked out sections are windows that will be hinged and finced to allow air and to keep out rain and high winds we have been thinking about putting a strip of ventalation right under the roof along the frount. the window on the frount is 1 ft by 8 foot and the two on the sides are 3.5 ft tall by 4 ft wide.

I don't know what your roof material is but that is a fairly flat roof. You shouldn't use shingles on that flat a roof. Your nest appear to be on the floor. I don't advise this, it could lead to egg eating and takes up floor space. I would put them high enough off the floor to be walked under by the hens and not as high as the roost which can lead to roosting in the nest. An over hang on your roof would allow for a small venting area near the roof that rain wouldn't get in.

How many chickens you getting?

It would be good to have ventilation high up on the wall near the roof. It will provide ventilation without having drafts blowing directly on your chickens.

I have my coop raise 2 feet of ground with 3 piles of cement block to prevent wood decay. The coop is small and not tall so it working out great. However, Your coop is too big & tall so not good idea.

What is your climate? You either need those 6" vent areas to be several feet wide or you need not to have an enclosed coop on 4 sides. I don't know whether there are enough supports to prevent the floor/building from sagging. Now high off the ground are you planning?

the roof will be coragated steal and the short long wall is accually part of our barn wall and the top vents will prob be one long vent all the way down the long wall the floor and roof joists are 32" on center.
why does everybody think that this is too big? i have seen others on here that are much bigger granted wider but they dont have a 30ft by 25ft barn as one of its walls.

Go with that big coop. I would never want a tiny one. When it is cold weather I can go in mine with the hens and be warm while cleanning up. Why anyone would want a tiny one I do not know.
About being up some from the ground. Put it up high enough to give access to a cat etc. to keep mice from undermining it. A good floor thats water proof esp with linolem or vinyl is great and easy to clean out. I would not like for my hens to have access underneath however. You would have a time getting a sick hen etc. out of there. Put hardware cloth between them and the under surface of the coop. remember they dig deep. Build big.
