Getting teddy to put my 17 week old hens on all flock with oyster shells out for them. Looking for opinions on the following brands: Hubbard homestead brand or Nutrena all flock. I attached picture of the nutritional values.

I started using Nutrena all flock pellets. My different breeds like it and I like cause it doesn't mold easily like Purina. I live in a cool humid climate so mold is always a concern. Plus I find Nutrena brands of feed make the chicken poop less stinky which is a plus.

I been using Nutrena for 2 years now, no complaints.

What is chicken scratch used for? Is it beneficial? They are 17 weeks get grower feed which I am getting to switch them to all flock. Thank you
Scratch is beneficial or detrimental depending how you use it.

Essentially it's an economical treat. Making you the bringer of interesting things. Or sprinkled around in places you want to encourage your chickens to scratch.
Being generally lower in protien than laying feed, the conventional opinion is that too much ultimately removes the overall protien the hens are consuming. Hence the treat label.

I use it by sprinkling on the compost pile to encourage them to scratch and to obtain sprouts they uncover over time. I also use it as a treat offered by hand. They don't over eat it. They show enthusiasm for a few minutes. Maybe eating a tablespoon or so each. Then losing interest and moving back to grass or compost etc...

Imo some whole grains like scratch encourage crop health. It's all part of variety. I have no evidence for my opinion.

Scratch is not necessary at all, it's just a high carb treat. You can throw out a handful fir them to scratch for but that's about it.
