I have (7) 6 week old RIR mix.. Getting ready to start them on grower.. I also have 2 17 week RIR mixes.. Im getting redy to throw them in the coop all together. If the 17 weekers eat some of the grower will it affect the egg laying or vice versa for the 6 weekers eating layer

Feeding different ages I would recommend feeding a flockraiser type feed. Purina makes one called, strangely enough, Flockraiser. The version I use is from a local mill and is called Allway kernels. It's a starter/grower/layer crumble feed. Much less hassle than several bins filled with different type feeds. I just offer oyster shell to my laying hens on the side.

ETA: You want to avoid feeding the youngsters layer feed. Too much calcium can damge their kidneys.
