feed storage

We are getting our coop ready for our first foray into keeping backyard chickens. We are getting 4 red sexlinks at the beginning of June and I am just wondering where I should store my chicken feed. I had thought about a galvanized garbage can inside the coop, but I don't want it to become a roost for the birds. Any ideas?

I use the same thing in my coop, and put an empty feed bag over the lid. It gets replaced as it gets trashed by the chickens, who will sit on or over it. Chicken poo will rot out the lid otherwise. Mary
