If I'm raising day old goslings in a brooder without the aid of a mummy goose to teach them, when it's time to take them off of gosling feed will they need to be taught how to eat grass or what it even is? I'm curious if they'll instinctively know what it is or if this would have be the role of the Goose and Gander to teach them.

Goslings should and will start eating grass the first few days of there life.I would not wait til there done with there goslings feed, grass is a important food source for geese especially when there little.

Enjoy them while there small..They grow like weeds on steroids.:D

I would avoid Oyster shell as its more meant for increasing calcium right before laying age.Poultry Grit can often be found at farm supply stores.Sand might work too.
