Feed too big for the d'Uccle chix

I was wondering if anyone else had to mash the crumbles up for their chicks? Our little D’Uccles hatched on 2/14 and I thought all was going well. This was a first time for the banty sized babies. Had them in the brooder and watched them eat and drink. (At least it looked that way) The crops never seemed to be full like my Buff Orp chicks get so we smashed some of the food and they started getting fuller crops. Then we put the feed through the food processor and boy that did it! Full crops all around. I am lucky to have the brooder right behind me at the computer desk so I look at them each time I sit down.

congrats on your hatch. How's the weather in the north pole? I've always wanted to go there. NY feels like the Alaska today BURRRR. Stay warm!

We are getting warmer by the day. They are calling for possible showers Wednesday. I even opened up the coop cause it's gone up to 40 above for the last couple of days. Sorry it's so cold in NY. It's that global warming thing lol.
