I've always fed my hens & roos the same feed year round. (layena mixed with scratch)

The other day, someone said that if I fed hens that were setting layena, it would lower my hatch rate.

TRUE OR FALSE?

I'd have to say false. I wouldn't mix the scratch in with it since too much scratch lowers their overall protien intake. I think of scratch as chicken candy and feed a small amount daily (seperate from thier pellets) to keep everyone friendly and so I can get them back into the run when needed, but I can't think why they would say layena would lower hatch rates.
