Feed

I have been feeding my birds layer for awhile now. Was wondering if thats the best thing to be feeding them?

Plan on butchering couple for Turkey day but plan to keep some over the winter and was wondering do their feed needs change when its cold?

I have been told that you need to add corn to finish them off, maybe four or five weeks. I am not sure but I was told fifty-fifty
But I would raise the protein for turkeys. Laying pellets are around 16% and you need over 20% protein.

I feed game bird finisher. If I can't get that, i mix layer or chick starter and game bird starter(30%).

I am guess that since i have been feeding them a lower protein, i have stunted their growth? Could this be why the hens didnt lay eggs?
