feed?

28-30% is best for all poults for at least the first 12 weeks. They will live and grow slowly on lower protien but will not thrive as they would on the high protien. You can raise a kitten on adult dog food but it might do a little better on a kitten food.

would some kind of treat with a good % of protien make up for that(like bread or the happy hens dryed worms)?

It is a whole lot eaiser to go to a feedstore and get the proper feed. You could also buy soy meal and mix it to get the proper protien. If a feedstore doesn't carry turkey or gamebird starter, most will be happy to get it on their next truck for you. You may have to pay up front.

Bread is a grain, mostly carbohydrate, very little protein. It won't help boost protein in their diet at all. The meal worms, sure. But those are darn expensive at 10$ a small bag!
