Does anyone use egg cartons to feed their baby chicks? I was thinking about using the paper egg cartons in a brooder because I have so many chicks coming in this week and so many brooders set up I am thinking I don't have enough feeders. Thought if I used the egg carton if it got dirty I could throw it away and grab a new one? Is there any negative for chicks to eat out of it? Good idea or bad?

You could give it a shot. I'm thinking since they like to climb in their feeder they may knock it over quite a bit. Perhaps you could find some rocks about the size of the egg slots, clean them and put them in the four corner slots to weight them down.

This is why you need to put a cover on your feeder-
