How much area does it take ?

I built a 12" wide feeder, gravity type the trough is about 12" wide and 4" front to back and about 4" deep. I know there is plenty of feed but I am concerned about area!

How many chickens should be able to feed from this without having an issue of pecking and fighting over the feed.

My Best,

Jimmy

if i am reading you correctly you are saying that
left to right you have 12 feet.
4 inches in depth
4 inches frount to back

60 birds and that is just a low guess if you ask me

maybe up to 4 birds at a time if u are lucky. i have a rain cutter for my feeder [4 ft long] and there is one hen who does not like anyone eating with her. so she has that feeder.

on the opposite wall i have the same size feeder and i have up to 6 chicken at a time eating.

Thanks for the reply!

I am just finishing a 8'x8' house and have this feeder inside it!

I think I'll expand the width of the trough another 12".

I am only going to have 8-12 chickens max!

Jimmy
