I have always kept a feeder and waterer inside the coop and two big dog bowls of water, a 10 lb feeder plus another smaller feeder in the run. I'm wondering if I'm over doing it. Do 12 bantams need this much water/feeders?

I have feeders and waterers like that but my flock almost always has chickens of different maturity levels in it. It helps keep peace in the flock if the younger ones can eat and drink without being bullied by the older ones.

If yours are all the same maturity level and are well integrated it is probably not necessary. You can try taking some up if you wish.

your 12 bantams will probably not eat more than 1.5 pounds of feed per day, 2 pounds at the most. It boils down to how often do you want to go between fillings of the feeders and if you have or do not want to have rodent problems, depending on the kind of feeder.

As other posters have already said, two feeders is best with them not being in line of sight.
