I've been bringing fresh feed and water to the ducks 3x a day. They act like they're starved.
They naturally killed off their pen grass but today I'm going to work on a movable pen for the yard so they can get out of the kennel every day.
So at the moment they have a tub big enough for 2 to fit in at a time and dive a bit, I dump and fill every 2 days or so. I have a pot placed in there for more water that's dumped and refilled every time I go out there (3+ times a day.) I had first put in a water fount but they didn't seem to know to get their bills into it to drink.
About 3x a day I find their feed bowl empty. Filling it makes them all excited and they scarf it down like they're starving. Are they actually hungry or are ducks more like dogs, that'll always be happy for food? These guys are eating way more than all my 10 chickens combined.
Also, I posted how the first few days they wouldn't eat at all. Clearly that progressed. I used the suggestion of "duck pellet soup". Last two days watching them eat the mushy soup I am pretty sure they were accidentally inhaling some. They take some gobbles then make almost a sneeze sound, or light cough. No sneezes, coughs, or other such things any other times, nothing indicating they are ill. Should I be concerned? Transition back to dry pellets?
