Feeding baby Serama's???

I have been told that even if feeding crumbles chick feed, it needs to be ground, or crumbled finer, so the tiny Seramas can eat it. I have been placing small batches between wax paper and rolling it with a rolling pin, which crumbles it finer. They are now 3 weeks old--how long before you all fed regular chick crumbles to your Seramas? I would think 3 weeks would be good enough, but don't want to get anyone clogged up.

I bet they're big enough. If you're worried, give them some parakeet grit. But I think they'll be fine.

They should be old enough, just watch them closely. We use a coffee grinder to grind their feed when they first hatch. Congrats on your new babies.

Meant to also ask, how long should I use the quail waterer, instead of a regular chick waterer?

I use a quail waterer with mine until they are pretty much feathered out. But that is just me.

I don't sweat it that much. I'll dip some feed out in a container then use my fingers to grind it up. I've never had a problem with them.
