Feeding Butter?

I have some old real butter can I feed it to my chickens?

As a treat? Sure. I have a bag of livestock dried fat that the horses will not touch but the chickens love it. Hasn't made them fat.

I use it with my older hens that have issues keeping weight. I usually cook them something with butter in it (since butter is expensive). If they get their beaks on butter though, they fight over it. Absolutely love it. As treat or weight gain aid, its okay to feed.
