I've read a lot about people giving cat food to their chickens to help through a molt, does anyone have advice on this?

I threw some in and a couple of then we're eating it but they weren't as excited as when I pick them clover or give them watermelon..lol

Mine prefer their own eggs, so that's what I feed mine for higher protein, I will also switch back to a grower during the fall and winter.

Don't feed too much, there is a fair amount of salt in many of the cat food brands. Try getting it a tad moist, as big, for a chicken, hard dry things it may take a while for them to learn to like it. Wetting it down, not soaking per see but damp, and this may change your luck.

Best to you and your birds,

RJ
