feeding chickens termites

Hi everyone !We put a log in our coop and found out that it was full of termites!After chipping it open our birds filled them selves up on the tiny insects. Are temites safe to eat on a regular basis ?

Chickens would eat them on a regular basis if wild. Think of it as extra protein.

Oh yeah, they'll love them.Great source of protein.
When hubby chops firewood,we can't keep the chickens away.They love wood beetle larve,too.

Not sure about online (but most any pet supply site). However, if you have a pet store nearby you would, most likely, be able to buy them cheaper there since you would save on shipping. I know most places will get things like that in bulk for you if need be.
