Hi all! I am new to this thread. I've been raising chicks for some time but I recently bought a 4 chicks as well as 2 ducklings. My question is: Is it okay to mix the medicated chicken starter with the duck starter or should I separate them to feed? I'm keeping them all in the same brooder. The last batch of chicks are now outside and I only have one brooder. I appreciate any feedback!

Welcome.
You are going to want to make a new brooder asap.
Find some cardboard boxes to tape together if you have to.

Ducks are too messy and wet to be with chicks.

Don't feed medicated feed to ducks. You'll notice on the bags of crumble baby chicks or chicks and ducks. If there are no ducklings, they can't have it. I have never used medicated feed. The chicks are fine without it.

Get non medicated feed suitable for both and put the medicated feed away until you have them separated.

When I first looked into this I found that the current way of making medicated feed is not as dangerous as it used to be for ducks.
Another solution is to get an all flock crumble. Purina's flock raiser or kalmbacks flock maker are what I use. I have found that niacin levels are even enough for the way my ducklings are raised.
If your brooder is large enough and you find a good method for water, ducks can be brooded with chicks. Be aware that a grown drake that was brooded with chicks could try to mate with chickens which can be deadly to chickens.

I use Kalmbach Flock Maker. It has everything that ducklings and chicks need. No need for medicated feed. It has been shown to supress the immune system.
