my chick were born on mother’s day and are 2 months old. I am wanting to switch them to 7 grain scratch bit afraid it will hurt them. Don’t know if it’s ok, does anyone have any suggestions?

Read the label/tag on bottom of bag.
Most scratch grains are not FORTIFIED.

I have been giving them starter and they are getting to big for there current pen and have to move them. I wanted to move them to a bigger pen where I had older chicken and have been feeding them scratch and some still laying on ground and didn’t want that to harm them. I was just afraid they would choke on it or something.

As stated, scratch is NOT a good base feed. I hope you are not using it as such for your adult birds. They too need a balanced, nutritious feed. As for the stray bit of scratch left on the run/coop floor, the new young birds should not be harmed by it as long as they have access to grit. They will eat what they see the older birds eating.

I gave my chicks scratch grains as a treat at 8 weeks. Just provide Poultry Grit. GC
