feeding chicks

can I safely feed broiler starter/grower feed that is medicated to chicks that are all future laying hens? I got a 50 lb bag of the medicated stuff unwittingly, and I don't want to use it if it is too high in nutrition my for 'girls' or if the meds are harmful. It says not to use the eggs of laying hens fed this ration, but mine are months from laying. any input will be greatly appreciated

i feed mine growing mash untill they are about 4 months old or maybe a little older then switch to layer pellets. marrie
