I currently have a hen sitting on eggs and one is in the process of hatching, I have incubated eggs before but now we have a cockerel i want to leave it all down to the hen and have them naturally. Only thing is I'm un sure about feeding the chicks do i buy crumb and leave it in the nesting box for them ? Any help would be appreciated

You have separated the he hen and chicks right? As for feed I'd do what you said:-) :-) How many is hatching?

They are just in the nesting box of our coop where the rest of the hens live, she is sitting on 9 and one has just hatched

You can change everyone's feed to an all flock feed and offer oyster shells free choice for the hens. That way, you don't need to worry about the chicks eating too much calcium. You might want to make a ramp to the nest so that the chicks can get up and down for the first week or so.
